Often times I wonder where I would be if I had of just been a little more patient. What if I stuck it out and took the harder route in some things that I used to tell myself I always wanted to accomplish? I can look back at friends that have "made it" so to speak and I must admit that I sometimes think... "That could have been me." But I was in a hurry and couldn't wait. So, I made different choices.
Discipline is so important. Whatever the mind can believe you can achieve but you have to have faith in the process. And process = discipline. Don't give in to quick fixes or temporary pleasures. Don't trade your dream in for a shiny whichamacallit.
I believe that what you really want is just around the corner. How fast you get around that corner is totally up to you. If you want to get there faster, then work harder... work smarter! Or you can stay on task but meander down the trail. Now, there is no problem taking your time getting to where you want to go. If that is truly what you are doing. But understand that the more time you take to smell the roses along the way, the more opportunities for distractions that there will be.
If the reason you aren't rushing down the road has to do with fear or doubt that you can commit, you might want to figure that part out first. Like I've always said. The most difficult decision you will ever make is the decision itself. Once you've truly decided, the discipline comes easier.
Strength, Courage and Honor!
